Netflix officially released the first teaser for its anticipated biopic series following the life of the late Selena Quintanilla, titled ”Selena: The Series.”
The first look shows actress Christian Serratos, most known for her role in ”The Walking Dead,” as the Mexican Tejano star.
In the clip, Serratos, as Selena, reads a script in her trailer with a fresh manicure, signature red lip, and purple jumpsuit before hitting the soundstage to rehearse her popular hit song, “Como la Flor.”
The cast includes Noemi Gonzalez as Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla, who also stands as executive producer, Siedy Lopez, as her mother Marcella and Madison Taylor Baez as a younger version of Selena. Gabriel Chavarria will play Selena’s older brother A.B. Quintanilla, with Ricardo Chavira as her father, Abraham Quintanilla.
According to Rolling Stone, the series is set to premiere on the streaming platform in 2020; the exact date is still to be announced.
