Soulja Boy might not be as tough as he claims to be after a police statement from a 2008 Georgia shooting surfaced online.
According to content creator and journalist Mickey Truth, Soulja Boy’s statement from the shooting paints a different picture than what he publicly revealed.
“Like 5 or 6 dudes broke into my house,” he wrote in the statement. “I cut all the lights off and hid with my eyes closed.”
After the intruders left, “my homey came in the room and said they were gone, and we all left the house,” he said.
Although much of the writing is hard to make out, he wrote: “I shot a gun about five times, then they took the gun and knock [sic] me down and ran out.”
Soulja Boy was cleared of gun charges in 2016 but still recounts tales of using his high-powered weaponry in the incident where he allegedly shot an intruder.
When DJ Vlad probed for more details about that night, Soulja Boy clarified that he had hosted a party at his Atlanta club, Excalibur, and the individuals who tried to rob him followed him back to his gated community.
Soulja Boy revealed that the intruders had help from someone in his gated community and followed him home. When they barged into his house while he was in the recording studio with friends, he took action by firing his gun.
“One n*gga run to the front door. I hop out, I start shooting, shot the n*gga,” he said. “Shot his ass. All the n*ggas run out the door. This n*gga on the floor. Walk up to this n*gga and take his mask off his head. Looked at it, saw who it was. I’m like, ‘Damn.’ Shot his ass again. He screaming and shit. I shut the door.”
