According to authorities, a tragic incident unfolded during Monday’s evening commute in New York City as a shooting at a subway station resulted in one fatality and injuries to five others.
Police confirmed that the shooting stemmed from an argument between two groups of teenagers.
The incident took place at 4:38 p.m. in a Bronx subway station during rush hour when school kids and workers were commuting.
Police confirmed a 34-year-old man was killed in the shooting. Among the injured were a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, and three adults aged 28, 29, and 71.d 71. According to the police, some of the victims were involved in the dispute while others were simply bystanders waiting for the train. Among the injuries, four were described as serious.
News footage from aerial perspectives depicted a subway train halted at the station alongside conspicuous orange markers on the elevated platform.
The station, situated at the junction of Mount Eden and Jerome Avenues, was the scene of this distressing event. At present, law enforcement has not apprehended anyone in connection with the shooting.
