Nicki Minaj Just Took a Major Court Loss — Judge Reportedly Moves to Sell Her $20M Mansion Over Default Judgment

Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty may lose their home in the coming months as a court case involving a security guard drags on.

According to Rolling Stone, the couple faces serious financial consequences after failing to respond to a 2021 lawsuit filed by German security guard Thomas Weidenmuller. The rapper and her husband allegedly attacked Weidenmuller backstage following a verbal disagreement at a concert, leaving him with severe injuries. In his lawsuit, Weidenmuller detailed the extent of the damage he suffered.

“I felt a blinding pain in my head, neck, face and jaw. I could tell in that instant that something was seriously wrong with my jaw,” he said.

According to the court documents, he had to undergo multiple surgeries and spend ten days hospitalized. Weidenmuller further explained the ongoing reconstruction of his jaw in a sworn statement.

“I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed. The doctors must still insert implants into my jaw as a part of the reconstruction process. In the interim, the doctors have inserted donor bones from a deceased person into my mouth in order to preserve space for the future implants.”

Because Minaj and Petty did not respond to the lawsuit, Weidenmuller was awarded a default judgment of $503,318.02.

However, he has been unable to collect the money through standard legal channels. To remedy this, he requested that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco authorize the sale of Minaj’s $20 million Los Angeles mansion.

On November 24, Rolling Stone confirmed that Judge Pánuco is leaning toward granting the request.

“My tentative is to grant this,” she said during a hearing. “I just want to make sure we’re getting it right.”

The judge added that the only missing piece is a statement from Bank of America showing how much of Minaj’s mortgage has been paid.

A follow-up hearing has been scheduled for January 22, when Judge Pánuco is expected to issue her final ruling.
