One of hip-hop’s most beloved and missed figures, Nipsey Hussle, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Los Angeles lyricist, who was murdered on March 31st, 2019, outside of his Marathon Clothing store, will be amongst 38 included in the 2021 Walk of Fame class. The prestigious honor is bittersweet for fans and loved ones still mourning the Grammy-award winning MC two years after his shocking death.
Hussle is one of two recipients being honored posthumously. Actress Carrie Fisher will also receive a star five years after her passing.
In addition to the man dubbed “Neighborhood Nip,” the Black Eyed Peas, actresses Regina King and Tessa Thompson, and music producer DJ Khaled will also be unveiling their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame has become a world-famous attraction, which honors key figures in entertainment. Today, the over 15-mile sidewalk possesses more than 2,690 stars, some of which belonging to hip-hop’s biggest acts, including 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, and Snoop Dogg. The Walk of Fame attracts approximately 10 million annual visitors.
