NLE Choppa is clapping back at critics accusing him of “queerbaiting” after a photo from his recent Playgirl shoot went viral. Over the weekend, an X user called him out for allegedly “gay baiting,” and Choppa wasted no time responding.
the gay baiting is seriously out of control now. https://t.co/bV0CJ8nyKb

“Never been gay baiting. It’s me showing freedom,” he tweeted. “Anything nowadays is called gay or it’s baiting. In reality, I’m comfortable enough and have the utmost confidence in how good God designed me head to toe. Call me what you want, but a straight man comfortable in my skin, I AM.”

He didn’t stop there. Choppa took to his bathroom and recorded a video diving deeper into the controversy.
“I just feel like narratives get painted because I don’t care so much,” he said. “But do not say that I’m a gay baiter because I’m comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual, and even my emotions.”
Choppa addressed critics who were fixated on specific elements of his shoot, saying, “I am not a gay baiter because I posted a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am. I am not a gay baiter if I post a picture showing off how much God has blessed me from below the waist with something that got women going crazy. I am not a gay baiter because, in [my] Playgirl shoot, I show a piece of my ass. It’s my ass!”
This isn’t the first time the rapper has faced speculation about his sexuality. Around the release of his track “Slut Me Out,” he addressed similar chatter, saying, “I understand me being in love with myself as a BLACKMAN is so RARE to the point that some people try putting the homosexual jacket on my name.”
He clarified his stance once again, adding, “With all due respect, I love ALL, but my intimacy lies with women only.”
NLE Choppa’s confidence and unapologetic self-love have clearly struck a nerve with some, but the rapper remains unbothered.
