Baller Alert caught up with NLE Choppa at the Truth Awards, where he opened up about putting his own spin on Chris Brown’s viral “Residuals Challenge” and stepping into his first lead acting role.
Speaking on his “Residuals” remix, Choppa shared that he’s a huge fan of the track and wanted to bring his own flavor to it. “I love the song, for real,” he said. “Chris Brown did his thing with it—it’s unmatched. It’s one of my favorite songs he’s released, in my opinion.”
When asked about the Wayne-like flow he delivered on the remix, Choppa confirmed that fans can expect more of that style in the future. “I got a lot of music in that realm,” he said. “I’ve just been waiting to present it.”
Beyond music, NLE Choppa is making moves in Hollywood. The rapper revealed that he just landed his first lead role in a film—something that wouldn’t have happened without his momager’s influence. “My mom put it together. Shout out to my mother—best manager ever,” he said. “Her and the director actually went to school together.”
As for his character? “I’ma be a menace. A good menace,” he teased.
