Rapper Young Bleed is reportedly fighting for his life after suffering a brain aneurysm on Saturday night, just hours after appearing at the No Limit vs Cash Money Verzuz event.
The news surfaced through a woman claiming to be his sister, Tedra Johnson-Spears, who shared an emotional statement asking fans to respect their family’s privacy during this difficult time.
“THIS WILL BE MY FIRST AND LAST POST,” she wrote on social media. “WE ARE RECEIVING A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF CALLS ABOUT MY BIG BROTHER GLENN, TANK, YOUNG BLEED. IF YOU HAVE NOT CALLED HIS MOTHER PERSONALLY PLEASE DO NOT POST ABOUT HIM. OUR FAMILY ASK THAT YOU RESPECT OUR PRIVACY AND HOLD ALL CALLS AND TEXT AT THIS TIME. HE IS STILL CURRENTLY IN ICU AND HIS MOTHER ASKED IF YOU ALL WOULD RESPECT HER WISHES AND NOT MAKE ANY RIP POSTS.”
Master P confirmed that the rapper had indeed suffered a brain aneurysm. His family has not shared further details about his condition, but they’ve made it clear they are asking for privacy and prayers rather than speculation or online tributes.
Master P wrote, “[#SnoopDogg] and I was just talking about how we have to love eachother while we here! We just turned up with our brother @therealyoungbleed @verzuztv Thanks for all y’all prayers and we need more prayers for him and his family as he fights in ICU.”
Young Bleed, a Baton Rouge native known for his collaborations with Master P and No Limit Records, had recently made a rare public appearance at the Verzuz event celebrating Louisiana’s hip-hop legacy.
Fans were thrilled to see him on stage again, unaware it would be followed by such devastating news. Since reports of his hospitalization broke, fans have flooded social media with messages of love and support.
As of now, Young Bleed remains in the intensive care unit. A GoFundMe launched by his family is seeking $9,000 to help fund his care and recovery.
