Beauty influencer Nyma Tang is CVS’s first beauty inclusivity consultant.
Tang signed off on a new deal with CVS to be its first beauty inclusivity consultant. In 2018, Tang started with the company with its Beauty Mark initiative, which promises to refrain from altering physical features like weight and skin complexion in its marketing imagery. But, Tang has since been promoted, and this week, CVS announced her as its first-ever Beauty Inclusivity Consultant, states the website.
Tang will implement more diversity in the drugstore’s beauty aisles and marketing; she will be working alongside CVS executives to do so. Tang, who has more than 1.5 million followers across YouTube and Instagram, will also help CVS manage the company’s assortment of products.
“Nyma has been a CVS partner since 2018, and we’ve been working with her in this role since early 2021,” said Andrea Harrison, Vice President of Beauty and Personal Care at CVS Health. “She is helping us learn and grow as we strive to develop a more inclusive beauty aisle and in-store experience for all customers.”
Tang says her new position is near and dear to her heart, as she understands buying cosmetic items and being on a budget. “A lot of people start in the drugstore,” Tang said to Glossy. “Drugstores will always have a special place in my heart. When I was a college student, when I started playing with makeup and bought all my products at the drug store, I didn’t have that much money,” she said.
