Offset is dealing with more than recovery this week, as a six-figure casino dispute is now adding pressure behind the scenes.
The Atlanta rapper is currently working to resolve a $100,000 debt tied to Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel, according to a lawsuit filed against him. The situation traces back to March 2024, when Offset reportedly opened a credit line with the casino to continue gambling during a visit.
Court documents state the casino later attempted to collect the balance directly from Offset’s account, as agreed upon in the original terms. However, the withdrawal allegedly failed due to insufficient funds. After unsuccessful attempts to reach him, the casino moved forward with legal action, accusing Offset of breach of contract and fraud.
A representative for Offset confirmed the issue is not being ignored, telling TMZ, “We are working toward a resolution.”
The legal trouble lands at a complicated moment. Just days before the lawsuit surfaced, Offset was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida following an altercation involving crews connected to him and rapper Lil Tjay. He sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury and was hospitalized. Lil Tjay was arrested for disorderly conduct and released shortly after.
This casino dispute also follows previous financial challenges for Offset, including a reported $1.5 million federal tax lien that was later resolved.
While his team signals progress toward settling the debt, the timing adds another layer to an already turbulent stretch for the rapper, both financially and physically.
