Offset has found himself in hot water after allegedly punching a weed dispensary guard, though he says the man started the altercation.
The incident took place at MedMen LAX, a popular dispensary, when Offset and his entourage arrived around 9:30 PM. A dispute broke out over whether Offset had presented his ID, a requirement under California law to purchase or even touch marijuana products.
Offset’s representatives have dismissed the claims as absurd, pointing out that the rapper had just flown in and, as usual, had his identification with him. According to Offset, he was in the process of showing his ID when the security guard became aggressive, allegedly spitting in his face. This led to a physical confrontation between the two.
As the situation escalated, more security staff joined the fray, and Offset punched the guard. In retaliation, the guard reportedly sprayed mace at Offset and his entourage. Police were called, and Offset and his group quickly fled the scene. Paramedics arrived shortly afterward, and the guard was taken to a nearby hospital, though the severity of his injuries remains unclear.
The security guard is believed to have pressed charges against Offset, but the rapper maintains his innocence, claiming that the entire ordeal was provoked by the guard’s actions. Despite the altercation, Offset’s attempt to enjoy some legal cannabis after his flight was abruptly interrupted.
