Following the series finale of “Power Book II: Ghost,” Omari Hardwick is reflecting on the legacy of the titular character, which started the universe and its spin-offs.
During a new chat with “Fat Joe Talks,” the subject of how Hardwick was able to flawlessly portray James “Ghost” St. Patrick, especially considering that Hardwick is much different in real life than his iconic character. However, Hardwick admitted that if it had not been for positive influences, his life could have taken a turn similar to that of Ghost.
“The actor is never that far from who they are. So if I’m not literally murdering, I have the propensity to have become that less a few good opportunities in life, less a father being in my life to care about me,” Hardwick explained.
Joe always questioned how Hardwick was able to tackle a “gangster” as someone who is a poet in real life. Hardwick explained to Joe that most gangsters have poetic tendencies and want to see people around them grow.
“You sold millions, billions of records as a poet. Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson is a poet. By the way, on Season 1, he sent me to his publishing company. The gangsters will pull you up,” Hardwick shared. “What gangster doesn’t put folks up on game?”
The original “Power” has become a cult classic of sorts, running for six seasons. After its conclusion in 2020, its spin-offs, “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” and “Power Book IV: Force” were launched.
