Adam “Pacman” Jones is back in the headlines, and not for football. The former NFL cornerback was arrested early Saturday morning in Covington, Kentucky, on charges including public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault of a police officer.
The Covington Police Department confirmed to the Cincinnati Enquirer that the 41-year-old allegedly assaulted an officer, though no further details about the incident have been released. According to public records, Jones was booked into Kenton County Jail at 1:51 a.m. and later posted his $10,000 bond, securing his release by 11:30 a.m.
Jones’ run-ins with the law have continued post-retirement. In November 2023, he was arrested in Arlington, Texas, after the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight. The charges at that time were assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, evading arrest, and public intoxication. In that case, Arlington Police told People that when officers attempted to cuff him, Jones “got free and started walking away.” His rep told TMZ Sports he “adamantly denies the allegations and looks forward to explaining the truth when the time comes.”
Jones also made headlines in 2023 after being arrested at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport as an “unruly passenger,” eventually pleading guilty to disorderly conduct. And back in 2017, he was charged after an altercation at the Millennium Hotel in Cincinnati, later pleading guilty to obstructing police.
Once a top-10 NFL draft pick, Jones spent most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2005 to 2018, but his off-the-field record continues to overshadow his time in the league.
