Two years after his surprising divorce from actress Meagan Good, Pastor DeVon Franklin is ready to date, but only under holy circumstances.
The “Live Free” author granted an interview to “Leah’s Lemonade” host, Leah Henry (@leahahenry), where he explained that preachers must be “very careful” when looking for a partner. One thing he refuses to do is purposefully seek out a woman from his church.
“You gotta be very careful. You gotta let God do that. So I don’t look in the congregation,” he explained.
Despite Franklin being spotted holding hands with a mystery woman back in March, it appears he is still single. His love life post-divorce seems to be kept strictly under wraps since he and Good split in December 2021 after nine years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in June 2022. While both have only expressed positive words towards one another since their breakup, Good admitted in a March 2023 interview with Essence, “It’s nothing that I would have ever chosen, and when I realized that it was happening, I was devastated.” Nevertheless, she has moved on to actor Jonathan Majors. In terms of finding his own new love, Franklin says he’s leaving it up to a higher power.
“I’m a let God do what only God can do, which is bring her, right? ‘Cause the Bible says, ‘He who finds.’ Part of the finding is God delivering. So I just say, ‘God, you deliver, and you bring who you want how you want,'” Franklin added when speaking with Henry.
