Over a million power tools have been recalled after several people were injured.
According to Local 12 News, industrial tool company DeWalt is calling back 1.4 million units of the 12-inch Sliding Compound Miter Saws. The company also issued a recall for 2,600 cordless hedge trimmers. Both items were sold in the States, with the saws also being sold in Canada.
The recall comes after an issue regarding a laceration hazard. The news outlet reports the product’s rear safety guard, which is meant to block a user from injury, malfunctions, breaks or detaches. The saws were sold at major U.S. stores, including Lowe’s, Home Depot, and online stores like Amazon.
The recall specifies products, including DWS779, DWS780, and DHS790 Miter Saws.
There have been at least 571 complaints sent to DeWalt from people reporting that the product was having related issues. Nine of those people suffered injuries from the items.
Customers who have the products are asked to stop using them and contact the company for return or repair options.
