President Joe Biden is urging his supporters to help him “finish this job” while announcing his 2024 reelection campaign.

On Tuesday, Biden described the present risks to “personal freedom” in a three-minute video posted to YouTube.

“Freedom, personal freedom, is fundamental to who we are as Americans,” Biden said. “That’s been the work of my first term—to fight for our democracy, to protect our rights, to make sure that everyone in this country is treated equally and that everyone is given a fair shot at making it. But, you know, around the country MAGA extremists are lining up to take on those bedrock freedoms.”

These “MAGA extremists,” Biden added, “are doing so by slashing social security, cutting taxes for the wealthy, targeting women’s healthcare rights, banning books, and “telling people who they can love.”
Prior to the 2020 presidential election, Biden claimed that the “battle for the soul of America” was still going on.

“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America. And we still are. The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom. More rights or fewer,” he said, adding, “This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election.”

On social media, Vice President, Kamala Harris, reaffirmed these comments.
“As Americans, we believe in freedom and liberty—and we believe that our democracy will only be as strong as our willingness to fight for it,” she said.
