Despite Prince Andrew’s denial of involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring, King Charles III is evaluating newly disclosed documents, which may result in Andrew being “forced out” of the Royal Lodge.
Insiders reveal that the recent document release, with Prince Andrew mentioned approximately 69 times, is poised to solidify the king’s resolve in addressing the “Andrew problem.”
According to the DailyMail, King Charles had already planned to oust Prince Andrew from a 10-bedroom Windsor home, given Andrew’s diminished royal standing following the sexual abuse allegations by Epstein’s alleged victim Virginia Giuffre.
“When it comes to any public role for his brother, there is no way back,” a source told the outlet.
“There has always been an agreement that Andrew would be permitted to attend private and family events, as is his right. But not public or official ones. That has not changed.”
King Charles is reportedly doubling down on plans to relocate Prince Andrew to Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in the coming months.
One insider told the DailyMail: ‘The fact that his name appears on the [Epstein] list will be no surprise to anyone, least of all His Majesty.
‘But it will underline the need for him to maintain his [Andrew’s] ‘retired royal’ status.
‘No matter how much he wants to come back, this association is just never going to go away. And that means he [Andrew] has to.’
The Duke of York is expected to independently finance the upkeep of the 30-room Royal Lodge, his residence since 2003.
So far, he has allegedly offered limited clarity on how he plans to cover the annual costs following his transition away from being a working royal.
Despite reportedly covering his brother’s £3 million annual security cost, the King’s financial limitations are becoming apparent, and royal patience is wearing thin.
With a firm resolve to address Prince Andrew’s connections to Epstein, King Charles is urging his brother to move from Royal Lodge to a more modest and cost-effective property within the royal estate.
