A San Diego prosecutor is seeking the maximum sentence of 18 years for #KellenWinslowII following his guilty plea.
Back in November, Winslow plead guilty to two sex crime charges, of which San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Dan Owens is seeking the maximum sentence.
Dan Owens is now seeking to impose eight years each for the two counts of rape. He is also seeking for Winslow to swerve a year for felony sexual battery and another year for two misdemeanor sex crimes, according to USA Today.
NBC Sports reports that Winslow would serve the first 17 years in prison and the last year in county jail for the misdemeanor crimes, Owens requests in his petition to the court. “The People strongly urge the court to impose the maximum sentence prescribed by law,” Owens wrote last week in his court filing.
As a part of his plea deal, Winslow is facing a 12 to 18 sentence. Since his guilty plea Winslow has been being detained in a maximum-security prison. Winslow is scheduled for a sentencing hearing in connection to the case on February 19, NBC Sports reports.
