"The Blind Side" Star Quinton Aaron Hospitalized After Fall -- Manager Denies Life Support Claims

"The Blind Side"

Actor Quinton Aaron is recovering in an Atlanta hospital after a frightening medical emergency that unfolded inside his home, according to confirmed reports.

Aaron, who portrayed Michael Oher in “The Blind Side,” was taken to the hospital several days ago after collapsing in his apartment. A representative told TMZ that the incident happened while Aaron was using a staircase when his legs suddenly gave out, sending him to the ground. Emergency responders were called and transported him for immediate medical care.

Since then, Aaron has remained hospitalized as doctors continue testing and observation. Online fundraising pages tied to his medical situation have used alarming language, claiming his condition was critical and suggesting he had been placed on life support due to a blood infection. Those descriptions were later disputed by Aaron’s manager.

“Quinton is receiving excellent medical care and is surrounded by loved ones,” his manager said. They also confirmed that the actor is stable, alert, and able to communicate with family and colleagues, while asking the public to respect the family’s privacy as treatment continues.

No official cause for the fall has been shared, and there is still no confirmed diagnosis explaining the medical emergency. Those close to Aaron say doctors are continuing evaluations before providing further updates.

The hospitalization adds to a string of health challenges Aaron has faced in recent years. In March 2025, he was treated in California after experiencing a fever and coughing up blood, which doctors linked to complications from Type A influenza and pneumonia. He also dealt with a serious upper respiratory infection in 2019.

Just months ago, Aaron had been celebrating personal progress, revealing he had lost nearly 200 pounds as part of a long-term health transformation. Standing 6-foot-8, he shared that his weight had dropped from 575 pounds to about 375.
