Ray J went on an epic rant Saturday, set off by Kris Jenner’s appearance on James Corden’s The Late Late Show. He railed against everyone, including Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West.
The singer revealed that West reached out to him via text after Wack 100 claimed he had a copy of a second sex tape that Ray J made with Kim Kardashian. Ray J shared the text messages during a more than 28-minute Instagram Live.
“I spoke to Wack and he said you still had some tapes,” West wrote in a text. “I need to get those back and the contracts and give them to my wife. Can we hop on to facilitate this?”
Ray J explains to Kanye that he has moved on, has two children and a tech company, and would prefer not to get involved.
“Let’s hop on the phone later today and clear this all up,” Ye continues. “Wack said you had the tapes in a safe.”
In Ray J’s response, he asks Ye if he knows the whole story and even asks if he knows who “brokered the deal.” The “I Hit It First” singer tells Kanye that he will break it down for him “out of respect.”
Ray J goes on to explain that he’s in the hospital recovering from pneumonia. He even let Kanye know that he felt they had a great conversation and said they could link up once he gets discharged from the hospital.
The next message from Ye came on October 8, and he’s letting Ray J know he’s flying in to meet up with him and grab the laptop. This was a significant plot point in an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians.
“Yoooo. Checkin in. I land at 9:30,” Ye informed Ray J. “Then I fly right back out at 1am. Just coming in to link with you.”
Ray J agrees to meet Ye but says, “I really want to make this right — but you gotta be willing to clear my name fam.” The reality star even suggests it can be done strategically.
During The Kardashians episode, the SKIMS founder told her friends and family that Kanye went to meet up with Ray J to get what remained of an alleged sex tape.
“So Kanye flew home last night, and he came back this morning. I want to show you guys what he got me. He got me all of the sex tape back,” Kardashian said in the episode, which aired back in April. “He flew home, and he got the computer it was on and the hard drive.”
She continued, “He met with Ray J at the airport, and he got it all back for me.”
Kardashian, who was in the midst of divorcing West, said that Ye did it for his family. The former couple share four children — daughters North and Chicago and sons Saint and Psalm.
“I know Kanye did this for me, but he also did this for my kids,” she added. “I want to shield them from as much as I can. If I have the power to, or if Kanye has the power to, that is just the most important thing to me, and I am so emotional because of it. It just means a lot to me.”
At the time, the reality star clarified that there wasn’t any explicit footage on the laptop that Ye brought her. It was old pictures and videos from when she and Ray J were dating. She expressed relief.
Kardashian has previously credited the sex tape with Ray J, which came out in 2007, for the success of her Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality show. The series was poised to air as the tape was going viral.
