R&B singer Ann Marie’s 911 call to the police has been released to the public.
On December 1, 2020, Ann Marie was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting her friend Sandillo Wright in the head at Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta. Ann Marie told police that the gun fell off a table, discharged, and shot Wright in the head by accident, Hip Hop DX writer Kyle Eustice reports. But investigators say they believe her story doesn’t add up, highlighting that she was crying at the scene but never shed a tear.
The 911 call Ann Marie made to police after the shooting was released by TMZ on Tuesday. Ann Marie is heard in the audio telling the dispatcher that the gun went off by accident while she was reaching for a towel. She also tells Wright, “I love you, baby” in the audio.
When the police went back to search the hotel room where the suspect and victim were, they found two shell castings. In the police, report officers say, “A projectile was also found by the bathroom door on the carpet and one in the bathroom tub. There was one bullet hole in the door jam, and also one in the cabinet top right corner in the bathroom.”
Hip Hop DX reports that Wright was taken to Grady hospital “conscious and breathing,” however, there are no details on her current condition. Ann Marie was booked into and is still in Fulton County Jail.
