Rising Memphis rapper Lotta Cash Desto, who worked with Lil Uzi Vert, was reportedly shot and killed early Saturday.
Police responded to a call about a shooting on the 5500 block of Richmond Avenue in West Houston at about 2:40 a.m. When officers arrived, they located two female victims in a silver Porsche SUV.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that the victim pronounced at the scene is Lotta Cash Desto. The other was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Assistant Chief Wyatt Martin.
A third shooting victim was located nearby and taken to a hospital. He is expected to survive.
Currently, police do not have any suspects, and no arrests have been made. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
“We don’t have any information about motive at this time. It could be road rage,” Martin said during a press conference. “It could have been a robbery. We just don’t know, and we don’t have enough information at this time to make a determination.”
Martin said that several witnesses are speaking with investigators and are asking anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division.
