Rob Kardashian has kept a low profile for years, choosing not to appear on camera while the rest of his family continued their public lives through Hulu’s “The Kardashians.”
In a rare and candid conversation with his sister on her podcast “Khloé in Wonderland,” Rob gave a clear explanation as to why. His decision, he said, is entirely personal.
“It just has everything to do with myself,” he told Khloé during this week’s episode.
While speculation has often tied his absence to possible family tension, Rob was quick to shut that down.
“There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us,” he said, referring to his relationships with his siblings and mother.
Rob explained that the idea of being filmed while feeling uncomfortable in his own body simply never made sense to him.
“I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I wanna go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in?” he questioned.
He acknowledged that filming might work for others, but not for him.
“It’s not for everybody,” he said. “And I choose my own happiness and peace over just filming for somebody who doesn’t do anything for me in my personal life.”
Rob has not been seen on the family’s new reality series, nor did he appear in the later seasons of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which ended in 2020 after 20 seasons.
Despite staying off-screen, Khloé has shared updates about her brother and has hinted more than once that he might return when he feels ready.
When asked if he could ever see himself filming again, Rob didn’t rule it out.
“I love filming if it’s positive and if it’s natural and I’m feeling good about myself,” he said. “Then, of course, and I’m comfortable.”
He said being around family is something he still enjoys, but he’s clear on where his priorities lie.
“I’m a homebody and I just choose, like I said, my peace and happiness,” he reiterated.
For Rob, staying private isn’t about hiding. It’s about not showing up before he’s ready.
