Roddy Ricch received a community service citation while surprising a group of middle school students in New York.
On Wednesday, Ricch visited the Middle School of Marketing and Legal Studies to share some motivational words of wisdom with the students.
During his impromptu visit, Ricch was awarded an official citation by New York State Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman for his positive impact on the community.
“We just wanted to come by and show y’all some love and be active in the community and just let y’all know that there’s somebody out there that care for y’all,” Ricch said to the students. “Everything we do is for the kids. We here for y’all. I was once y’all.”
In video footage, Ricch was seen signing autographs for the kids while hanging out with them following the ceremony. The clip also shows a group of the hyped-up students performing an a capella version of Rich’s hit “The Box.”
Ricch stopped by the middle school ahead of his Madison Square Garden performance for Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Tour.
