Powell was a standout defensive lineman during his time at the University of Florida. Despite several injuries in his college career, Powell was selected by the Saints in the fifth round of the 2014 draft. Â
In the 2014 season, Powell showcased his skills on the field in New Orleans, participating in 14 games and contributing with one solo tackle and one assist. Unfortunately, after his release by the Saints the following season, Powell navigated through various chapters, spending time on the practice squads of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. It wasn’t until 2016 that he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Despite this new opportunity, Powell didn’t see any game action with the Seahawks and ultimately exited the league by 2017.
Let’s send plenty of prayers and wishes to the family, friends, and fans of Powell during such a tragic time.Â
