Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested After Standoff at Paramount Studios Lot

A sexual assault suspect was arrested at Paramount Pictures Studio lot in Hollywood, California after a two-hour standoff with police.

Bryan Gudiel Barrios, 36, worked on the studio lot. According to Fullerton Police Cpl. Billy Phu, Barrios is accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

When police attempted to detain Barrios, he pulled out a knife. A taser, 40 mm, and beanbag were used on the suspect – all methods failed to subdue him. The police attempted to negotiate with him to surrender. Officers opened fire on the suspect then entered the building where he barricaded himself and arrested him.

Barrios was taken to the hospital for self-inflicted wounds he sustained during the incident.
