Shannon Sharpe has revealed that he does not pay guests to appear on his “Club Shay Shay” platform, even those who could guarantee a viral moment, such as Boosie.
On Sunday, one fan suggested that Sharpe interview the rapper before the year ends. As most know, Boosie has become a staple on VladTV, doing new interviews with the blogger every few months. Most of their sit-downs frequently go viral, and Boosie has admitted that Vlad pays him roughly $500,000 each year for these discussions. While this explains why the Louisiana performer has become a staple on Vlad’s channel, Sharpe says he is not interested in forking over that kind of dough.
“We don’t pay guests. No prob with pods that do, but that’s not our model,” Sharpe responded to the fan.
Vlad caught wind of this tweet and quickly jumped into the comments to promote his latest content, which features his longtime guest.
“New Boosie interview on VladTV Tuesday,” he wrote.
While Sharpe’s comments may be a letdown for fans, Boosie previously shot down the idea of appearing on the ex-football pro’s show. In February, the 42-year-old went live on Instagram, sharing that his team confirmed Sharpe doesn’t pay guests, which is why Boosie declined. The rapper explained that podcast interviews were a large part of how he makes money, with many of them doing massive numbers on YouTube.
