In the wake of the FBI investigation into basketball corruption, Shaquille O’Neal’s superstar son, Shareef O’Neal has announced his decommitment from Arizona.

“At this time I’m opening up my recruitment due to the current events with the UofA Bball team,” Shareef wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank all the coaches for recruiting me. At the time my family and I think it’s in my best interest to look at other options to assure my play in the NCAA next year.”

Shareef’s move comes after ESPN’s report that FBI wiretaps uncovered conversations where Arizona coach Sean Miller discussed paying $100,000 to make sure potential No. 1 draft pick, Deandre Ayton, signs with the team.

Now, in the wake of the scandal, the 6-foot-9 power forward is opening his recruitment to other options. According to ESPN, since the Crossroads baller did not sign a letter of intent with Arizona, he will not need the school to release him to go somewhere else. ESPN reports that Kentucky and his father’s alma mater, LSU, may be possible destinations for the young baller.
