“Sinners” Scores Big Golden Globe Nods — Best Picture, Director & Actor Make It a Top Contender

The 2026 Golden Globe Awards brought a mix of powerful films and standout performances, with several categories drawing major attention for the names and projects involved.

“Sinners” made a strong impact this year with a nomination for Best Picture, Drama. The film also earned a spot in the Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, demonstrating its strong connection with audiences and its impressive theater run.

Ryan Coogler continued his streak of respected work by securing a nomination for Best Director for “Sinners.” His projects always deliver thoughtful stories, and this nomination reinforces the influence of his filmmaking.

Michael B. Jordan received a Best Male Actor, Drama nomination for his role in “Sinners.” His performance gained a lot of praise and helped push the film into the spotlight. Dwayne Johnson also joined the category with a nomination for “The Smashing Machine,” adding even more star power to the lineup.

Elsewhere, “KPop Demon Hunters“ grabbed major attention this year with two nominations. It competed in the Best Motion Picture, Animated category and made the list for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The animated film had a strong following and created a significant presence across entertainment spaces. “Zootopia 2″ stood next to it in the animated category and also appeared in the Box Office Achievement lineup, along with large-scale projects like “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” “F1,” “Weapons,” and “Wicked: For Good.”

“Sinners” and “KPop Demon Hunters” emerged as two of the most talked-about titles leading into the ceremony, thanks to their multiple nominations and strong viewer support.
