Six people in California were shot during a party that violated the shelter-in-place order.
The shooting occurred a little after midnight. Authorities responded to multiple calls that gunshots were coming from a Bakersfield apartment, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Deputies found six gunshot victims including a minor with nonlife-threatening injuries who informed the authorities of the party that was taking place before the shooting.
The six victims were treated for their injuries at a local hospital and then released with no pending charges. The suspects were said to be four men driving a white sedan, but no arrests have been made.
The shooting took place during a statewide shelter-in-place order to keep the 40 million residents safe and to stop the spread of the deadly COVID-19. California Governor Gavin Newsom issued the order in March, which will continue until May 15.
