New details about 76ers forward Mike Scott’s physical altercation during a tailgate gathering have been released, and apparently, Scott will not be disciplined over the altercation, according to Bleacher Report.
Scott, who is a Washington Redskins fan, put together a tailgate with some Eagles fans at the team’s home opener on Sunday. The athlete was sporting a Redskins jersey, and an alleged fight broke out between him and some Eagles fans at Lincoln Financial Field, according to CBS Sports. The altercation was caught on video and published to TMZ.
Prior to the altercation, a fan mentioned to Scott that not wearing Eagles green would create drama. But, in response, Scott tweeted back, “What’s gon happen.” Afterwards, The Philadelphia 76ers released a statement addressing the incident. “We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time.”
A formal police report was not filed, but Scott took to Twitter and posted a photo, in which he seemed to be in good health. In the meantime, a Sixers spokesperson said the team has reviewed the evidence and will not punish Scott as long as there are no new developments in the story. The Eagles beat the Redskins 32-27.
