Detroit rapper Skilla Baby is lucky to be alive after a violent shooting erupted Thursday night along Eastbound 8 Mile near Telegraph Road. The rising hip-hop talent was reportedly hit in the hand and grazed in the head during what appears to be a targeted attack.
According to several local outlets, including Metro Detroit News, moments after shots rang out, a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident crashed into a nearby building. Investigators later found multiple shell casings littered across the busy stretch of 8 Mile, suggesting a high number of rounds were fired.
Thankfully, the rapper is expected to survive his injuries. Police have not named any suspects and continue to piece together what led up to the brazen act. Surveillance footage from the scene is being used to figure out a possible motive.
Skilla Baby has not spoken out publicly about the situation.
