“When I think of someone playing you, I think of how Jamie Foxx played Ray. Like, that was like, spot on. So I would have to find me a Jamie Foxx or somebody that can actually become Snoop Dogg on screen and give me all of that element.” The 49-year-old says that he does not know if that lucky actor is already in the industry or someone who has yet to be discovered.
After bursting onto the scene in 1992 on Dr. Dre’s” Deep Cover,” Snoop released his debut album the following year, “Doggystyle.” The LP sold 800,000 copies in its first week. It was certified quadruple-platinum in 1994 and spawned the singles “What’s My Name?” and “Gin & Juice.” From there, Snoop has acquired 17 Grammy nominations over his career with Death Row and No Limit Records. Needless to say, a Snoop Dogg biopic would have to find a nearly flawless actor to encompass the nearly 30-year career of the illustrious California staple.
“When I get to that point, I’m going to find him,” Snoop assured.
