Boss Moves or Bad Business? Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross Face Backlash from Fans Over Controversial Trump Crypto Ball Performance

With Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg performing at Donald Trump’s Crypto Ball last night, fans have many opinions and most of them are not good.

Both rappers were spotted at the first-annual Crypto Ball in Washington D.C., where they graced the stage, along with Soulja Boy. Rozay stated that the show was merely a “private” event that he was doing with Snoop. Soulja also said he was only in D.C. trying to “get this TikTok ban lifted.”

However, several outlets have confirmed that the concert was indeed the Trump ball. As expected, longtime supporters of both artists dragged them online, particularly the West Coast star. During Trump’s first term, he criticized artists who performed at his inauguration.

Many online have questioned whether or not Snoop, Rick Ross, Soulja and even Nelly, who will also perform at the inauguration, will receive the same public treatment as Chrisette Michele, whose career was derailed after she performed at Trump’s first inauguration.

I know I did not just see Rick Ross performing at the crypto ball! After all that shit he was talking

Y’all gave Chrisette Michelle hell for performing at Trump’s first inauguration; I hope to see the same energy for Snoop Dogg, Nelly, and Rick Ross. pic.twitter.com/fjLZGgwail

Chrisette Michele has yet to recover from performing at Trump’s inauguration in 2017. Yet, Snoop, Nelly, Soulja Boy, and Rick Ross will be fine. The “cancel” culture goalpost moves depending on your cultural equity and who you’re affiliated with.

All I know is, Chrisette Michele didn’t deserve to be dragged the way she was and other singers and rappers haven’t gotten that same energy.

these rappers are not going to get treated the same as chrisette michele bc we all know men are enabled to make unprincipled decisions for money more so than women, and also capitulation to the govt has been popularized across the political spectrum over the last four years so

As the controversial Republican president-elect prepares to take office, it’ll be interesting to see which other rappers come out in support of Trump.
