Snoop Dogg is launching a new professional boxing league called “The Fight Club.”
It seems like Snoop couldn’t get enough after commentating for the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. fight, and now he’s gearing up to start a boxing league of his own. Ryan Kavanaugh of Triller, the company that put the fight together, said fans can expect to see Snoop next to another ring.
During an interview with TMZ, Kavanaugh revealed that he and Snoop will be partnering up to create a boxing league called The Fight Club. “I can tell you that the main fight — I can’t say it yet — but it’s gonna be something that everybody wants to see,” Kavanaugh said. “If you thought (Tyson vs. Jones) is big, I think that this would be even larger from a worldwide-appetite perspective and something that people want to see.”
No details about what fighters will face off have been released, but Kavanaugh shared some insight about the behind-the-scenes aspects of the league. “It’s a league owned by Proxima, which is the parent company to Triller and Snoop, and this was the first of many, many events,” he said, adding that Snoop is a co-owner of the league. The rapper will help book musical acts and will, of course, act as a commentator.
“This is gonna be big,” Kavanaugh says … “The whole idea is we want to change up the way that boxing is done.”
