During his recent sit down on “Drink Champs,” Snoop addressed the decision, stating, “Before Jay-Z got control of the Super Bowl, wouldn’t no n***as performing.”
“Let’s go back to the essence of the beginning…he’s creating a wave of artists to have an opportunity to perform. If you’re a good artist and you’re a great artist, your time will come.”
Without directly naming Wayne, Snoop reflected on his past Super Bowl performance, where he appeared alongside Dr. Dre in 2022.
“I was never crying about it or mad about it. When Dr. Dre called me and asked me to get his back, I was there for him,” he continued. “But I didn’t feel like I was supposed to be there or I was in demand to be there. This is a big event. People looking at everything when they pick the person to perform.”
Snoop added, “You should just be honored that hip-hop is being able to be seen on that platform for all of us and not hate on the next man.”
Despite Wayne not being asked to perform at the Super Bowl, which will take place in February 2025 in New Orleans, fans are gearing up to watch Lamar take center stage.
