Social media is reacting to Sean Kingston and his mother being arrested after his Florida home was raided.
Reports indicate that the “Beautiful Girls” singer was taken into custody by police in California Thursday on an arrest warrant issued by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for fraud and theft charges. Earlier that day, Kingston’s mom, Janice Turner, was taken into custody after authorities raided the South Florida mansion the singer is renting.
The Thursday morning raid was part of an ongoing investigation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office. An attorney representing a company suing Kingston was on the scene during the raid and told reporters his client had filed a suit against Kingston over an unpaid balance for an entertainment system valued at over $100,000.
In the past, Kingston has been accused of not paying for jewelry and other goods, and there have even been reports of him not paying his T-Mobile phone bill. So when news broke of the arrest, fans were not surprised to learn that Sean Kingston and his mother were detained on fraud charges, especially given his history.
