Sofia Richie is expecting the arrival of her first child with her spouse, Elliot Grainge, as she has recently announced her pregnancy.
In a Thursday interview with Vogue, the model shared that she is expecting a baby girl with her partner. Alongside an image from the magazine’s photoshoot, she posted on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support and excitement about the upcoming phase of their lives.
“Our hearts are filled with so much love! So thankful for all of your support! Can’t wait for this next chapter of life,” she wrote.
Richie, who is approximately six months into her pregnancy, disclosed to the magazine that she had chosen to keep this news private to safeguard her personal space.
“Pregnancy is really scary,” Richie explained. “I didn’t realize there are so many milestones you have to hit and so many tests you have to take. For me, it was really important to protect our mental health and our space as a couple.”
The 25-year-old also shared she and Grainge were pleasantly surprised to discover that they will be welcoming a daughter.
“We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock,” Richie added. “My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl, too.”
Since learning of her pregnancy, Richie has been concealing her baby bump beneath oversized coats and bulky sweaters. However, she is eager to enjoy experimenting with her wardrobe now that the news has been made public.
“Now that we’re announcing it, I have so many ideas,” she said, adding, “I’m about to have some fun with it now that I can spread my wings and fly.”
