Soulja Boy Signs $400 million Deal With Poker Company

A few weeks ago Soulja Boy took to Twitter to let fans know about a huge new deal that he had just inked. The rapper-turned-producer cryptically tweeted “$400 million deal confirmed. I still think they low balled me though. I was thinking 2 or 3 billion.” Though he didn’t go into detail about the contract’s specifics, a later tweet alluding to SB’s writer’s credit on Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’ album had fans drawing conclusions.

As it turns out, the deal is actually with World Poker Fund and will cover five years, the publicly traded gaming company announced Friday. In a statement released the company called the Crank Dat pioneer “one of the most influential urban entertainers and artist on social media today.” The company went on to reveal their reasoning behind choosing Soulja Boy, stating the “recent success of Nas, Sean “Diddy” Combs and 50 Cent’s investment and ambassador brand deals with technology and consumer products like Ciroc and Vitamin Water” as their influence.

Soulja Boy released a statement expressing his sentiments on the deal. “I invest in things I understand. I enjoy music, and of course gaming,” he explained. “With regards to World Poker Fund, I believe in its strategy, its team, the vision, and management’s ability to target its financial goals.” Soulja Boy will be using his social media presence to help promote the company’s gaming assets and an “in-flight gaming” platform.

A huge shoutout goes out to Soulja Boy on the moves he’s been making!
