Last month, Nicole Murphy appeared on The Wendy Show to set the record straight, and apologize, once and for all, for kissing married director Antoine Fuqua.
During the appearance, which she also used to promote her latest business ventures, Murphy expressed remorse over the incident, claiming it was a moment that should have never happened. She even sent a message directly to Fuqua’s wife, Lela Rochon, to acknowledge her faults and apologize for her part in the entire ordeal.
But, according to Love B. Scott, Murphy’s recollection of the incident was far from the truth. In fact, sources allegedly told the publication that Fuqua, himself, believed Murphy set him up by calling paparazzi to snap the pics.
Apparently, it all stems from Murphy’s alleged attempt to sustain her lavish lifestyle, following her $15 million divorce settlement with Eddie Murphy in 2005. According to Love B. Scott, Murphy was finessed out of $10 million by a childhood friend, who pleaded guilty to the crime in 2016. But, as a result, Murphy was left with “massive debt,” which forced her to allegedly find stability in wealthy men, from Michael Strahan, Jimmy Jackson, Nick Cannon and eventually, Fuqua.
According to the publication, Murphy tried to use the photos to ruin Fuqua’s marriage with Rochon, in an attempt to “push their relationship further. But it didn’t work.” It did, however, ‘devastate’ and ‘embarrass’ the couple’s 15-and 17-year old children.
Sources told Love B. Scott that Murphy reportedly planned and paid for four months of paparazzi photos with Fuqua. But, before the photos went public, they were reportedly sent to Fuqua’s family, who identified Murphy as a “family friend.” Despite her claims that she did not release that initial statement to B. Scott, confirming their friendly status.
In the meantime, according to the publication, Murphy has reportedly been taunting Rochon through their mutual friends, but Fuqua reportedly has no plans on leaving his wife.
