Just as the New England Patriots prepare for the biggest game of the year, star wide receiver Stefon Diggs is dealing with a major legal headache.
A former business associate has filed a lawsuit against the 32-year-old athlete, alleging defamation and civil conspiracy following a messy dispute over a missing luxury vehicle.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Friday, February 6, the drama started back in July 2024 when the plaintiff was tasked with moving Diggs’ Ferrari across the country. Although the car was reportedly snatched by a professional theft ring while in Houston, the lawsuit claims Diggs pointed the finger at his own employee, telling people in their circle that the man was the one who stole it.
The fallout from these accusations has reportedly been devastating for the former associate, who insists he was never a suspect in the eyes of the law. He claims Diggs’ words trashed his consulting reputation and led to aggressive harassment from the receiver’s inner circle.
Things allegedly turned personal when people tied to Diggs supposedly showed up at the man’s home and various restaurants demanding he give back gifts. The plaintiff also points to a January 2025 text where Diggs allegedly told him he was “responsible and accountable for all actions of those around me.”
The situation took a violent turn in December 2025 at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami, where the man claims he was jumped by two individuals connected to the NFL star. The lawsuit doesn’t just stop at Stefon; it also names his brother, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, claiming he stood by and watched the assault happen without stepping in to help.
The plaintiff, who says he suffered a torn ACL among other injuries during the scuffle, is now seeking major damages from both brothers as Stefon tries to keep his focus on the field for Super Bowl LX.
