The IRS is giving some people another chance to receive a $1,400 stimulus check before the New Year.
These payments are a result of the American Rescue Act, signed by President Joe Biden earlier this year. However, there will be a few stipulations to these payments.
People who received a stimulus check based on their 2019 tax return or information from the Social Security Administration will be eligible for the plus-up payments.
According to IRS.gov, you must earn less than you did in 2019 in order to qualify.
Furthermore, anyone who used the non-filers option for past stimulus payouts must file a 2020 tax return and claim all qualifying dependents, according to the IRS. The Free File Program is available to people with an annual income of $72,000 or less.
To apply, all you have to do is complete your 2020 tax return, which the IRS will evaluate and give the additional stimulus for any dependents who qualify.
It must be completed by December 31, 2021.
