UPDATE: The charges have been dropped, as prosecutors say the “touching” statue only applies to strippers who “regularly” dance at the establishment. Daniels was just a guest, TMZ reports.

On Tuesday, porn star #StormyDaniels was arrested at an Ohio strip club for allegedly allowing patrons to touch her while on stage.
According to CNN, under Ohio law, a stripper, porn star or any employee who regularly poses nude or seminude is prohibited from touching patrons on the premise of a sexually oriented business – unless it’s a relative.

In the incident, detectives said they watched Daniels take off her top and force customers to motorboat her chest. In fact, they say they also witnessed the woman “fondling the breasts of female patrons,” which prompted officials to move in on Daniels.

However, according to court documents obtained by the publication, as the detectives made their way to Daniels, she motioned toward them, as well, and shoved their faces in her breast. Shortly after, she was arrested on three misdemeanor charges, and then released after posting a $6,054 bail.

In the wake of the incident, Daniels’ lawyer believes it was all a set up.

According to TMZ, a source connected to Siren Gentlemen’s Club, where Daniels was arrested, says the undercover officers were waiting for Daniels to take the stage.

“She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a nonsexual manner! Are you kidding me?” Michael Avenatti tweeted. “They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities.”
