What began 17 years ago as a dream and a daring vision has grown into one of the most anticipated events in South Florida.
Sweet Heat Miami, founded by the trailblazing DJ Dimples, was inspired by the vibrant festivals and electric party scenes she witnessed in other cities. Determined to bring that same excitement to her hometown, she lit a spark that would turn into a full-blown movement for women from all walks of life.
Today, Sweet Heat is a five-day celebration that draws women from across the diaspora, each year becoming bigger, bolder, and more unforgettable.
This year’s lineup is stacked with high-energy events—from roller skating and bowling to the fan-favorite all-white party, a luxury yacht cruise, and the weekend’s grand finale: the legendary pool party.
DJ Dimples has strategically placed the festivities in some of Miami’s trendiest neighborhoods and venues, including Wynwood, Brickell, and the iconic Taboo (formerly G5ive), one of the city’s most renowned strip clubs.
“Sweet Heat is a wonderful place to come and have a good time. Let your hair down and forget all of your problems. It’s definitely a safe space. It’s a community—you meet lifelong friends. You might even get married,” DJ Dimples shared.

More than just a party, Sweet Heat is an empowering annual tradition that celebrates and uplifts women of all ethnicities, shapes, sizes, and identities.
When asked why she chose to focus specifically on women, Dimples explained, “Nobody really focuses on women. I feel like women always get the back seat. So if I can push them to the front and give them something to look forward to every year, I’m going to do it—every single time.”
Over the years, Sweet Heat has earned a reputation as “Pride for women”—a nod to the global Pride celebrations tailored for LGBTQ+ communities. While that recognition holds true, DJ Dimples wants it to be clear that the event is open and welcoming to all.
“I don’t like to box things in,” she said. “It is a Pride weekend for women, but it’s also whatever you want it to be. If you want to come with your homeboys or your homegirls, do that. Just make sure you’re ready to have a good time.”
