Over the weekend, T.I. was booed during his comedy set at Power 105.1’s April Fools Comedy Jam in Brooklyn.
The Atlanta rapper turned comedian served as a headlining act alongside Nick Cannon, Eddie Griffin, B. Simone, Rip Michaels, Tony Roberts, Bruce Bruce, Michael Blackson, Joe Torry, HaHa Davis, and Jacob Williams.
Videos of the rapper-comedian started circulating online of him getting booed on multiple occasions throughout the show.
In one clip, you can hear the crowd screaming and booing as T.I. told his first joke about determining whether or not a date is for the streets. Later in the set, he made a joke about having sex with someone’s mom, but the crowd wasn’t feeling it.
“Well, got damn,” Tip told the crow. “I’ma tell y’all muthafuckin ass like this. Y’all got one more mutherfuckin album out of me. It’s called Kill the King. For muthafuckers like you. And I appreciate y’all cause you make me the absolute best.”
T.I. ultimately recovered and concluded his set, earning applause from the audience.
In an Instagram Live interview after the show, T.I. admitted he liked being booed after being asked by comedian Michael Blackson whether he enjoyed it.
“Yes. I loved it. He added, “I didn’t feel like they were booing me… I felt like they was booing me as like, ‘I dare you to be more funny. I dare you to be more funny. I dare you to overcome this. I dare you to do better.’ I felt like that’s what they were challenging me to do and I did it.”
