Telfar lovers, this is not a drill. The brand will finally be opening a physical location this month.
On November 23rd, the company behind its iconic Shopping Bag will open the doors to its first-ever flagship store in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood, located on the corner of Canal and Broadway. This nostalgic shopping area once housed OMG Jeans, with that storefront space soon housing the first physical Telfar site.
The 10,000-square-foot space will function as an influencer hub. It will feature a TV studio in the center, where shoppers can create their own content, which will then be displayed live on digital screens throughout the store. This concept reflects the brand’s innovative TELFARTV platform, a digital channel offering exclusive shopping experiences and content.
Beyond the interactive elements, the store features a cocooned area for its ready-to-wear collections and a striking bag bar inspired by a bright Chinese takeout menu. Every bag Telfar has ever created will be displayed alongside exclusive “off-menu” unreleased designs, which may be available for pre-order.
Founded in 2005 by Telfar Clemens, the company has risen to global acclaim for its democratic approach to fashion. A Liberian-American designer, Clemens built the brand on inclusivity and also exclusivity. Many Telfar bags sell out quickly, and with its Telfar Bag Security Program, shoppers are guaranteed the item they want even if it sells out, though it often takes months to receive. It’s unclear if items will be on hand to purchase on a daily basis.
