Las Vegas police are investigating a shocking Tesla Cybertruck explosion that occurred Wednesday outside the Trump Las Vegas hotel, leaving the driver dead and seven others with minor injuries.
Video:
The incident unfolded when the vehicle pulled into the valet area at the luxury hotel and suddenly erupted, according to authorities. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed they responded to a fire at the entrance of the building and have since secured the area.
Officials shared that the driver, who remains unidentified, is the sole casualty of the explosion. The injured bystanders suffered minor injuries and received medical attention. While the fire was quickly extinguished, authorities urged the public to steer clear of the area as investigations continue.
The Tesla Cybertruck contained a load of fireworks-style mortars. However, it remains unclear whether the explosion was intentional or caused by a malfunction within the vehicle.
As of now, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
