Kid Cudi brought in over $800,000 at auction, with many of his prized luxury possessions being sold to high bidders.
The digital auction, hosted by Pharrell’s platform Joopiter, featured 75 items from Cudi’s personal collection, spanning jewelry, sneakers, artwork, and vintage apparel.
The biggest sale came from a custom Jacob & Co 14-karat N.E.R.D. pendant, originally commissioned by Pharrell in 2005. Cudi had acquired it at a prior auction but put it back on the block, where it sold for $243,750, which is more than double its estimate.
Another standout piece was a one-of-a-kind Ben Baller x Takashi Murakami x Kid Cudi chain, which pulled in $187,500, slightly below its $200,000 guide price. A pair of Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 Low sneakers designed by the late Virgil Abloh fetched $82,500.
The “Better Place” star also parted with a Ben Baller chain crafted in his likeness, made of 18-karat gold, diamonds, sapphires, and rubies, which sold for $43,750. Fans with deep pockets scooped up rare vintage music T-shirts, including originals from Eminem, Nirvana, and Michael Jackson.
Cudi previously praised the hip-hop auction platform, and told GQ, “Joopiter has been wanting to do something with me for a while, so I recently reached out to the team and let them know I had some stuff I was willing to part with, things I’ve collected throughout my career.”
Speaking on the Michael Jackson shirt, he added: “It’s just really rare when you find them because everybody sees them and they buy ’em up.”
