The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urges against traveling this Labor Day weekend.
Everyone is moving and shaking with the Labor Day weekend quickly approaching. While many plan to see family and friends, the CDC suggests people—vaccinated or not—stay home.
Their caution comes as the U.S. surpassed an average of 160,000 new cases, CNN Health reports.
“First and foremost, if you are unvaccinated, we would recommend not traveling,” said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky during a White House Covid-19 Response Team Briefing on Tuesday. She added that those vaccinated could travel but advised that they be aware and adhere to safety precautions.
Right now, 38.5 percent of Americans, ages 12 and up, are not fully vaccinated, according to data from the CDC.
