For decades, The Cheetah Lounge has been more than just a strip club—it’s been an Atlanta landmark. Known for its upscale, fully nude entertainment and late-night energy, The Cheetah has drawn locals, celebrities, and curious visitors since first opening its doors back in 1977 before moving into its Spring Street location in 1987.
Now, after nearly 50 years in business, the iconic club is preparing for its last dance. Developers have confirmed that The Cheetah will soon be demolished to make room for a new multi-phase, mixed-use student housing project targeting Georgia Tech students.
The plan is to transform the low-rise building and its surrounding parking lot into modern apartments, retail space, and student-focused amenities.
For a city that’s built a reputation on both its music and strip club culture, the closing of The Cheetah marks the end of an era.
